Citizen Schools in Texas

Kealing apprentices went on an Exploration to the University of Texas at Austin on Election Day 2008 to survey college students about who they voted for and why.

In the fall of 2005, Citizen Schools launched its first Texas campus at Grady Middle School in Houston, enrolling 79 students and maintaining an average daily attendance rate of 90%. A year later, we added another school in Houston and expanded to Austin. Today, we're growing Texas-style! Bringing schools and communities together, we are helping to restore the promise of education in America, inspiring a love of learning that motivates young adolescents to succeed in school, college, the workforce and life.

There are many ways for you or your organization to support our mission of educating children and strengthening communities. Please contact our Austin or Houston State Office to learn more about career, volunteer, and giving opportunities.
