Become a Citizen Champion

The power of teaching back goes well beyond the classroom. Advocates for children need to keep teaching America the powerful role we all have in helping young people fulfill their potential. Citizen Schools works, and its impact is spreading nationwide. We need you to join our movement and help us spread the idea. 

Citizen Champions are friends of Citizen Schools who are excited about making an impact on education, and willing to reach out to their networks (through email, social networking sites, and in-person events) to:

• Garner support for policy initiatives that help education, national service, and high-performing non-profits
• Raise money to operate Citizen Schools programs coast to coast
• Recruit volunteers to teach what they know and love in middle-schools near you

Champions will help Citizen Schools reach time-sensitive goals over intensive 1-2 week periods. At other times they may receive only monthly updates or invitations. As a Citizen Champion, you can get as involved as you want, depending on the interests of your network. You will also receive briefings about our policy work and evaluation results, and will be invited to periodic social gatherings and celebrations.
