Gaps in test results and various community indicators show us that what goes on in our classrooms just isn't enough. Dropout rates show that we are losing students at an alarming rate and students are losing out on essential learning opportunities. We believe that there are student, school, and community assets that can change these trends.

How are we at CSC changing these trends?

• By extending the learning day, we offer more time to learn.
• By actively engaging students in what they learn, we work to close the achievement gap and develop leadership skills and a culture of achievement.
• By connecting students to caring adults in professions beyond the school building through apprenticeships, we expose students to a lifetime of learning and give them the tools to stay on the path towards high school, college, and career. 
• By connecting professionals in the public and private sector (from Google to the Mayor's Office), we ensure a community of adults are sharing their own paths to learning and helping students see their own potential.
• By sharing, learning, and demonstrating results, we contribute to a community, statewide, and national vision of the education reform and volunteer service movements in America and demonstrate the true potential of our students and our communities.
