Our most recent and preliminary data for the 2008-09 academic year shows that on average across all the schools served Citizen Schools' students achieved:

86% annual attendance rate
70% maintained or improved math grades
58% improved their oral communication skills
69% retention rate
66% maintain or improved ELA grades (English Language Arts)

One school district reported that Citizen Schools’ students were outperforming their school peers in math and English/Language Arts.
A rigorous, independent, and longitudinal evaluation has reported that middle-school students enrolled in the city where this model was based significantly out-performed a matched comparison group on six out of seven metrics of school success and advancement.
